Most of the offences discovered by the law enforcement bodies this year include VAT avoidance, sale of expired food products, non-declaration of the goods in customs and violation of copyright, the Government’s press service said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime identified cases of transportation and keeping of goods without documents or origin and cases of smuggling large quantities of goods. The State Main Tax Inspectorate discovered 27 cases of non-use or incorrect use of the cash register and imposed fines of 146,000 lei. Three legal cases over smuggling of consumer goods were instituted in the first week of June. There were identified 17 cases of trafficking in goods, checked 12 wholesale stores and shopping centers, seized goods to the value of about 1.2 million lei and imposed fines of 31,000 lei.
