The laureates of the ninth international festival in memory of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici “Twin Hearts” became known. The trophy for grownups went to Moldova’s representative Cristian Papanaga. Cristina Borceva from Bulgaria became the winner in the children’s section, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The contest involved about 40 singers from 13 countries. The final results were announced in the Laureates Gala on November 15.
Aurel Malai from Moldova won the First Prize in the grownups’ section. The Third Prize also remained in Moldova. It was given to Stela Botan.
The First Prize in the children’s section was shared by Diana Brestean from Chisinau and Romanian singer Angela Bitlan. Moldova’s Stefanel Roscovan won the Second Prize, while Diana Zaharia from Romania got the Third Prize.
“All the participants in the festival were impressed by Chisinau and by Moldova, which they discovered through the songs of Doina and Ion Aldea-Tedorovoci. They named this event the festival of friendship. I haven’s earlier seen such a harmonious atmosphere, where all the competitors help each other,” said Doina Aldea-Teodorovici’s mother Eugenia Marin.
Acting President Marian Lupu conferred the Order of Honor of Moldova on Eugenia Marin.
In the Laureates Gala, adviser to the Prime Minister of Moldova Leonid Bujor said 2012 is to be named the Year of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici.
The festival “Twin Hearts” is held annually. Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici died in a car accident in October 1992. On November 15, Doina would have turned 59.
