The laureates of the 2016 annual awards of the Ministry of Culture, conferred for the most representative creations in literature, theater, music, choreography and other areas and for management in the field of culture, became known. The award ceremony will be held on January 16, on the occasion of the National Culture Day, IPN reports.
The award “Valeriu Cupcea” in theater art was given to actor and director of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” Alexandru Cozub, for Ion Druta’s play “Big house”, and to stage manager Iurie Harmelin, director of the State Youth Drama Theater “From the Rose Street”, for promoting small theater forms and for the whole activity.
The award “Constantin Stere” in literature went to writer Mihai Cimpoi, literary critic and academician, for the volume “Dictionary of literary theory and criticism”, and to poet, prose writer, folklorist and scientific researcher Iulian Filip, for the prose volume “Newton’s Walnut”.
The award “Gavriil Muzicescu” in music was conferred on the director of the folk music orchestra “Folclor” Petre Neamtu and instrumentalist Alex Calancea, while “Mihai Grecu” in plastic arts went to Elena Karachentseva for accomplishments in the field of graphic arts.
The award “Emil Loteanu” in cinematography was given to scenarist, filmmaker and director of the National Cinematography Center Valeriu Jereghi, while “Stefan Ciobanu” in the area of conservation of cultural heritage and museography was given to the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau for the Romanian Government’s substantial contribution to the restoration and promotion of Moldova’s cultural heritage.
Ballet dancer of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu” Anastasia Homitskaya got the award “Petru Leonardi”, while Maria Furdui, director of the Library “Vasile Alecsandri”, won “Ion Madan” for implementing cultural projects in library.
The award “Isidor Burdin” in the field of intangible heritage was given to director of the District Museum of History and Ethnography of Edinet, “Gheorghe Cincilei” in the area of mass media to publicist and Moldpress reporter Nicolae Roibu, while “Alexandru Fedcu” went to the head of the culture division of the Sangerei District Council Valeriu Rusu.
