Last week pipe accident in Ciocana may have been caused by landslide

The accident that happened on a pipe in Chisinau’s Ciocana district last week, which resulted in the flooding of about 120 garages situated on Milescu Spataru St, could have been caused by a landslide. In the ordinary meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials on September 19, Constantin Becciev, director of the water supplier SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, said they are working to establish the cause of the accident, with the landfall being a preliminary version, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We will ask carrying out a geological investigation in that area. If it turns out that there was a landslide, we will need a special project,” said Constantin Becciev. He also said that a levee against pluvial water is to be built in the area. The repair works will be completed in a day or two. The losses caused by the accident have not been yet determined.
