Last Saturday of September will be celebrated as Grandmother’s Day

Last Saturday of September will be celebrated as “Grandmother’s Day”. Saturday was chosen in order not to jeopardize the working process, stated PM Vasile Tarlev on Wednesday, September 5. Initiated by the First Lady of the republic, the “Grandmother’s Day” was celebrated last year, as an experiment. The Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child said it received letters and notes of thanks from various elderly women, especially from rural areas. Thus, the authorities decided to make the holiday permanent. The Prime Minister requested the responsible structures in the Government to come up with ideas for the organization of a holiday for grandfathers as well.
