The Central Election Commission registered the last four applicants as electoral contenders. These are: Ana Gutu, of the Political Party “The Right” and independents Valeriu Gilerski, Maia Laguta, and Silvia Radu. Thus, 12 candidates will compete for the office of President of Moldova, IPN reports.
In a meeting on October 6, the CEC rejected the applications of independent aspirants Ion Dron, Roman Mihaes, Vasile Tarlev, and Vitalia Pavlichenko for the reason that these didn’t collect the required number of signatures.
Earlier, the CEC registered as candidates Marian Lupu (PDM), Mihai Ghimpu (PL), Iurie Leanca (PPEM), Andrei Nastase (PPPDA), Inna Popenko (Ravnopravie/Shor Party), Dumitru Chubashenko (PPPN), Maia Sandu (PAS), and Igor Dodon (PSRM).
