The Cahul District Electoral Council registered the last five aspirants who will contend for the post of mayor of the municipality of Cahul in the November 5 local election, IPN reports.
The Council’s head Ion Miron said that the five candidates are:
- Vitalie Carp, of the Chance Party;
- Petru Burlacu, of the Party of Communists;
- Iurie Muntean, of the Common Action – Civic Congress Party;
- Valentin Comanici, of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova;
- Dmitri Moruz, independent.
Marcel Cenușa, of the Party of Socialists, and Nicolae Dandiș, an independent candidate, had been registered earlier.
This way, seven candidates will compete for the mayoralty of Cahul, which is the fourth largest city in Moldova after Chisinau, Balti, and Ungheni, excluding Tiraspol, Bender and Rybnitsa of the Transnistrian region.
