October 20 is the last day when electors can submit a declaration to announce their intention to vote abroad in the November 30 parliamentary elections. Almost 1,700 voters have registered on the website of the Central Election Commission so far, IPN reports.

More than 500 statements were filed by citizens who are in Russia. Over 230 statements came from Romania, 160 – from Italy, 114 - from France, 91 - from Spain, 73 – from Canada, while by about 60 - from the UK and the U.S. Fewer than 50 statements were received from other states.

The citizens who know that they will be outside Moldova on the election day can submit a statement to inform where they will be and to ask to be temporarily removed from the main voter roll at the permanent place of residence in Moldova, only for the November 30 elections.

By this mechanism, the Central Election Commission aims to determine in what countries more polling places should be established, depending on the number of registered voters.
