Large trucks sent back owing to snow

A number of large trucks were stopped on the Anenii Noi – Stefan Voda – Causeni road, near Troita village of Anenii Noi district, and sent back owing to the unfavorable weather conditions and the snowy roads. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the movement on that road segment is very difficult. The trucks were banned from moving in both of the directions. Four settlements in the districts of Taraclia, Cahul and Causeni remained without electricity. Intervention teams are working to restore the power supply. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service calls on the people to refrain from traveling long distances. If the trips cannot be avoided, it is recommended putting on warm clothes and eating before going out so as to avoid suffering from hypothermia. The vehicles should be appropriately equipped, including with sand and a shovel, and travel only on the main roads. In emergencies, the people can call 901.
