The leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Dumitru Diacov expressed his concern about the large number of people undecided about who to vote for at the April 5 elections. “Such a situation is due to the pressure exerted by the ruling party through the agency of the local heads,” Dumitru Diacov told a news conference on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Diacov, the wish of the Communist Party (PCRM) to remain in power at all costs could lead to social convulsions after the elections. “We consider that a monocolor government, especially communist one, could cause absolutely unpredictable and vehement reactions on the part of the population after elections,” Diacov said. At the same news conference, Dumitru Diacov announced that the PDM had the results of a representative survey about the voters’ choices. The survey commissioned by the PDM refutes the results of the last Public Onion Barometer. Diacov considers that the results of the barometer were falsified during the ten days between the finalization and publication of the poll. “I presume that the staff of the Communists worked on this from March 14, when the poll was completed, until the publication date of March 24. The exit polls will probably have the same mission,” Diacov said. In the survey conducted by the PDM, the PCRM won 26%, as against 36.2% in the Public Onion Barometer. The PDM has over 4%, as opposed to 0.7% in the barometer, the president of the party said. The PDM leader also said that the election results could be falsified as the process of transferring the data from polling places to the Central Election Commission is not controlled by the parties and the civil society. “Unfortunately, the political parties do not have control over this process. We tried to understand thie process, but cannot fully understand it,” Diacov said.
