A car service and an annex situated in its immediate neighborhood on Criuleni St in Chisinau caught fire in the evening of February 1. Nine firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene to put out the fire classed of the second level. The firemen fought to bring the blaze under control for almost four hours.

Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan has told IPN that the firefighters took two oxygen cylinders out of the burning building as these could explode. A car that was inside was also saved from being damaged by fire. No person was hurt.

According to firefighters, the flames affected about 400 square meters. The rescuers are carrying out washing and cleaning works. All the circumstances and cause of fire are yet to be determined by the experimental anti-fire lab.
