The farmers who recently gained access to their farmland located beyond the Râbnița-Tiraspol road were informed about the eligibility conditions, type of projects and opportunities offered by the programs and projects implemented in agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment on September 6 staged an information session in the building of the Dubăsari Duistrcit Council, IPN reports.

The landowners were informed about the financing opportunities within the project “Moldova’s Orchard”. The project is intended for business entities operating in the horticultural sector, such as fruit, grape, walnut and berry growers, and those involved in post-harvest activities, such as processing companies, nurseries and companies from the related industry – packing, label and horticulture accessories producers. The famers can raise investment loans and financing in leasing. Among the tax concessions of the project are the application of zero VAT on the delivery of products on the domestic market and the importation of goods, works and services, exemption from paying customs duties on the import of goods and services.

The Moldova Agriculture Competitiveness Project is another presented project. This is designed for private individuals who practice entrepreneurial activities and such legal entities as commercial organizations, cooperatives, regardless of the type of ownership and legal organizational form, that perform agricultural activities on the territory of the republic, except for Chișinău and Bălți cites. The agricultural producers must have worked for three years and have owned or rented land for at least 15 years and mustn’t have invested only grant sources from other donors.

The participants were also informed about the sums to which they have access, the type of projects and opportunities offered by the IFAD Program, the Wine Sector Restructuring Program, the 2KR Increase of Food Production Project and the subsidies provided by the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture.

The farmers in Dubăsari district hadn’t had access to their land situated beyond the Tiraspol-Râbnița road since 2014. As a result of negotiations between Chișinău and Tiraspol, the access to the land was restored for a period of 20 years as of August 1 this year.
