Given that the National Bank of Moldova received the final report on the investigation of the banking fraud from Kroll, the decision and recommendation of the Supreme Security Council to the central bank is that this report should be presented in the next meeting of the Council for examination, President Igor Dodon stated in a news conference held after the March 7 meeting of the Council, IPN reports.

President Dodon noted that under the clauses of the agreement signed with Kroll, the National Bank does not have the right to make the report public. But the Supreme Security Council decided that the National Bank governor should discuss with representatives of the foreign company so that the report reaches the Council in the nearest future.

The Council today discussed the statements on the union with Romania signed by mayors and councilors of Moldovan communities, which Igor Dodon considers anti-state actions. He proposed amending the penal legislation so as to specify the punishment for such acts. He also intends to address an official later to the UN and the Council of Europe, of which Moldova and Romania form part, and will request these to pronounce on the issue.

The President said the meeting of the Supreme Security Council was held in the new composition and was attended by 12 of the 18 members. Asked who the new members are, Igor Dodon avoided giving names. He said the March 7 meeting of the Council was not attended by Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan, Minister of Defense Eugeniu Sturza, chairman of the Parliament’s commission on national security, defense and public order Roman Botan and the representative of the Security and Intelligence Service.

The meeting approved the agenda of the Supreme Security Council for 2018 and agreed that the Council will come together at least once in a quarter.
