The parliamentary commission of inquiry into the bank fraud decided it will published the Second Kroll Report, in English, on July 4. The most important annex - the final list of beneficiaries - will not be yet made public, the commission’s chairman Alexandru Slusari was quoted by IPN as saying in a news conference.

The MP noted the commission had a meeting with representatives of Kroll. The company has reservations about the opportunity of publishing the report for various reasons, but never placed obstacles in this regard.

According to Alexandru Slusari, the commission of inquiry on July 3 unanimously decided in favor of publishing the report despite the position of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The report is to be sent to the media today, but the names of some of the foreign banks will be hachured at the request of the National Bank of Moldova as the cooperation with these banks continues and there are chances of recovering a part of the stolen funds.

“Regrettably, this report that we obtained does not contain the most important annex, for now. We haven’t yet come into possession of this annex, which poses the greatest interest – the final list of beneficiaries,” stated the MP. “As of March 22, 2018, the list has been at the Prosecutor General’s Office and this was to take steps to publish the list long ago.”

Alexandru Slusari also said that in the discussions with representatives of Kroll, they were told that if the operation to get back the money had been launched immediately, in 2015, but not by simulated legal proceedings, a significant part of the funds stolen from the banking system could have been recovered. “We reached the current situation due to the dallying of the investigation bodies. The thieves could hide the traces and use the stolen money,” noted the MP.
