Know candidates in your constituency! No.10: Bălți 2

Constituency No.10: Bălți 2 includes a part of Bălți town and Elizaveta suburban settlement and 17 localities of Sângerei district. The electors there will vote at polling places No. 10/1-10/38. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, becomes the winner.

The Democratic Party’s candidate Sergey Iordan, a jurist by profession, heads the list of candidates on the ballot. He works as the chief registrar at the Bălți Local Cadastral Service of the Public Services Agency. According to alege2019.md, in 2007-2011 he served as a municipal councilor in Bălți. Elected on the ticket of the People’s Party of Moldova, in the course of his mandate he became an independent councilor.  Since 2015 he has served as a municipal councilor in Bălți on behalf of the Democratic Party. For January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018, he and his wife declared 312,000 lei in salary. The family owns an apartment.

The second place on the ballot is taken by the Party of Socialists’ candidate Alexandr Nesterovski, a jurist by profession. The candidate heads the association “TVC League of Eastern Europe” and is the co-founder of the association “I Love Moldova”. During January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018, the candidate earned over 317,000 lei salary and over 25,000 lei incomes while working as the representative of the state in SRL “Fama Glamosa”. He also gained over 234,000 lei allowances for renting dwellings and for other purposes provided by the Parliament. He owns a car.

The Shor Party’s candidate Pavel Verejanu, a specialist in accounting and audit, comes third. Forming part of the team of Ilan Shor in the local elections of June 2015, he became a municipal councilor and head of the majority group “For Orhei” on the Orhei Municipal Council. Since December 2017, he has headed the public association “For Orhei”. Together with his wife, the candidate for January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018 declared over 72,000 lei salary and 114,000 lei and over €42,000 earned from other sources. The family possesses two pieces of land.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Arina Spătaru, a light industry technologist, is under No. 4. Arina Spătaru is the founder and director of SRL “Arina-S” of Bălți that designs and makes clothes and also heads the Bălți local organization of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 47,000 lei salary and more than 19,000 lei in child benefit. Arina Spătaru owns four pieces of land, commercial areas, two homes, a garage and two cars. 

The Our Party’s candidate Elena Gritsko, a jurist by profession, is the fifth on the list. She manages the Foundation “Renato Usatyi”. According to alegeri2019.md, Elena Gritsko headed the Noncommercial Organizations Division of the Ministry of Justice in 2009-2014 and later worked as a legal assistant at the law firm “Igor Sheremet”. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 54,000 lei salary and about 1,400 lei allowances obtained from the Bălți Municipal Council. She owns an apartment and a car.

The Party of Communists’ candidate Sergey Rubtsov, a jurist by profession, is under No. 6. He is the first secretary of the Communist Party’s Bălți Municipal Committee. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 149,000 lei salary. He owns five plots of land, two apartments, two garages and other real estate and a car.
