Know candidates in your constituency! No. 3: Edineț

Constituency No. 3: Edineț embraces Edineț town, Cupcini town and another 30 localities of Edineț municipality. The people there will vote at polling places No. 3/1-3/51. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, becomes the winner.

Democratic MP Oleg Sîrbu, who is an agronomist by profession, tops the list of candidates on the ballot. Oleg Sîrbu held the seat of MP for three times, in the 18th, 19th and 20th legislatures (August 2009 – present). Together with his wife, he declared over 510,00 lei in salary for January 1, 2017 – December 27, 2018. The family declared dividends of 6,622,188 lei from the company it manages and revenues of 4,650 lei earned from the sale of real estate and securities. The candidate also declared 660,286 lei revenues gained as rental. He owns farmland, a house, two apartments and nine cars.  

The Party of Socialists’ candidate Nicolai Melnic, who is a jurist by profession, is under No. 2. He serves as the deputy mayor of Cupcini town. For January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018, the candidate, together with his family, declared over 249,000 lei in salary and more than 40,000 lei from the sale of a piece of land. The family declared revenues of over 167,000 lei earned as pension, awards and land rental. The candidate owns several land plots.

The Shor Party’s candidate Gennady Panciuc, who is a mechanical engineer by profession and manages SRL “Pangar-Nord”, comes third. The candidate for January 1, 2017 – December 31,2018 declared over 126,000 lei salaries and 91,125 lei from the sale of assets. He owns land, two apartments and two cars.

Philologist Elena Panuș, currently political manager, secretary general of the Our Party and a member of the Chisinau Municipal Council, is under No. 4 and runs on behalf of Our Party. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared incomes of 2,315 lei and 6,000 pounds earned as donations and inheritance. She collected 25,853 lei in allowances for taking part in the meetings of the CMC. Elena Panuș owns a plot for construction, a home and a car.

The Party of Communists’ candidate Alexandr Zui, civil avitation pilot and co-founder of a commercial organization, comes fifth. Together with his wife, the candidate, for January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, declared over 200,000 lei in pension. The family owns a piece of land, an apartment, two garages, a house, commercial areas and a car.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Dinu Plîngău is under No. 6. He is a jurist by profession and coordinator of projects at the public association “DECID”. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared zero incomes. The 24-year-old man is a bachelor of law. He heads the Youth Organization of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”.

Independent candidate Anatolie Vengher is the seventh on the list. He works at the Edineț forestry enterprise. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate and his family declared 246,000 lei in salary and over 33,000 lei in disability pension, monthly state allowances and financial support. The family owns four pieces of land, a house, two annexes and six units of transport

Independent candidate Alexandru Brenici, a dentist by profession, is under No. 8. He didn’t declare his incomes and property.

Independent Marin Livadaru, administrator-entrepreneur at Feira Grup SRL, is the ninth. The candidate didn’t present data on his incomes and property.
