Kinesitherapy rooms for children with special needs will be opened in several kindergartens in Chisinau. The initiative is a result of an agreement between the general division for education, youth and sport and the nongovernmental organization Hippocrates, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Florica Rusu, head of the pre-school management service within the education division, so far five kindergartens with enough space for a kinesitherapy room have been identified.
“Kinesitherapy rooms will be opened in kindergartens no.151 and 180 in Botanica district. In Buiucani, sanatorium-type kindergarten no.25 has enough room. In Center district, a kinesitherapy room will be opened in kindergarten no.175 and in Ciocana in kindergarten no.135, specialized in sight diseases”, said Florica Rusu. The services provided to children will be financially covered from the budget of the National Company of Medical Insurances.
The first kinesitherapy room was opened in May this year at kindergarten no.76 in Riscani district. Kinesitherapy focuses on restoring the functions of some parts of the human body affected by diseases or traumas. It is defined as therapy through movements done according to medical programs, meant to restore the insufficient functions or to raise the functional level in case of various diseases.
In Chisinau, there are about 600 children diagnosed with autism and paralysis.
