The Ministry of Education and Research will create the legal farmworker needed for the kindergartens to pass to self-management. On Facebook Live, Minister Dan Perciun said that in Moldova there is only one kindergarten that is on self-management and this is a good practice. Many nursery schools want to switch over to self-management, but the necessary legal framework is absent, IPN reports.

According to the official, the kindergartens should first deal with a series of fundamental issues, such as the financing formula, personnel structure and should discuss the offering of the right of self-management to kindergartens.

The minister noted that the schools receive additional financing from the state budget per child, but the nursery schools do not. This way, large kindergartens in urban centers subsidize the small kindergartens in rural areas as the financing of kindergartens depends not on the number of students, but on historical financing. In the urbanization context, this meant underfinancing of kindergartens in towns and municipalities and priority financing of rural kindergartens.

Dan Perciun concluded that the implementation of the formula of financing per child in nursery schools will enable to balance this aspect, but additional funds are also needed for the purpose.
