The kindergarten in Zamciogi village of Straseni district was renovated with Romanian funds. The roof was changed, the building’s façade was repaired and a fence was put up. The cooking and laundering facilities were outfitted with the necessary equipment. Swings and toboggans were set up on the playground, while the yard was paved, IPN reports.
“After such projects are implemented, I realize that the investment made by the Government of Romania is efficient. We are convinced that the allocated money will yield results and the parents and your children will be happy,” Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ionita said in the ceremony held to inaugurate the kindergarten after renovation.
Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Vasile Batca said the building was extensively repaired for the first time after tens of years of its construction. It is now a kindergarten that meets the European standards. Healthy education will be provided in a creative and interesting environment. The children will be able to communicate with their mates in a nicer atmosphere.
In a press release, the Moldova Social Investment Fund, which manages the Romanian grant intended for the repair of the kindergarten, said that a sum of 1.3 million lei was allocated for the renovation works in Zamciogi. Of this sum, 1.1 million lei is the grant provided by the Government of Romania, while 200,000 lei is the community’s contribution.
The kindergarten was opened in 1965. It is now attended by 68 children aged between three and seven.
