Kindergarten No. 160 situated in Posta Veche quarter of Chisinau, where six children became infected, will be closed for a week. The information was confirmed by the deputy chief doctor of the Chisinau Public Heath Center Eudochia Tcaci. She told IPN that the situation will be reexamined in seven days to see when the kindergarten can be reopened.
According to a communiqué from the Public Heath Center, violations of the sanitary-hygienic norms were identified in the kindergarten. The institution was overcrowded and the disinfection and sanitation regime wasn’t respected. The persons holding responsible positions were penalized.
The Center said that 10 cases of acute diarrhea were recoded in the given kindergarten between November 15 and November 26. Six children were taken to the hospital.
Vice director of the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases Maria Neaga said five children were hospitalized, while the sixth child will receive treatment at home, as the parents asked. Two of the hospitalized children are in a medium gravity state, while the others are in a satisfactory state. The children were diagnosed with gastroenteritis and were taken to the hospital with fever, dizziness, diarrhea and stomachache. The treatment will last for five to seven days.
