The 75 windows and entrance doors of the kindergarten located in Budesti village of Chisinau municipality were replaced within a project that cost 400,000 lei. Of this sum, 240,000 lei was donated by the Embassy of Germany within a financing program from the resources of the federal budget. 150,000 lei was allocated from the local budget, while the community contributed 23,000 lei. “We also bought new furniture according to the children’s age. We have enough teaching aids for training the children,” mayor of Budesti Nina Costiuc said during a fact-finding trip organized by the Embassy of Germany in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The kindergarten in Budesti is attended by 200 children, but its capacity is lower. The local authorities say they manage to provide all the children with food and teaching materials. “We plan to change the kindergarten’s heating system as the boiler room is old and wastes fuel. We are preparing the project to apply for financing,” said the mayor. German Embassy chancellor Dorothea Proture informed the press that every year the Embassy receives €70-80 million from the federal budget for financing 6-8 microprojects in Moldova. “Budesti benefited from such financing over time. This year, there were changed the kindergarten’s windows. We do not want the children to be cold in winter, while the settlement should not suffer losses because of the inefficient supply of the institution with heat,” said Dorothea Proture. Carsten Wilms, deputy head of the German Embassy, said that Germany annually provides €6.2 billion for financing projects in agriculture, development of villages, education and environment protection. The beneficiaries of projects have the possibility of receiving free consultancy about the implementation of projects from the Senior Expert Service of Germany.
