Kindergarten and school directors will be named by contest for five years

The heads of kindergartens, primary schools and high schools will be selected by contest and will work for a period of five years. When the term in office expires, the post will be declared vacant. The Parliament adopted relevant amendments to the Education Law, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Minister of Education Leonid Bujor, 2/3 of the total number of heads of general education institutions hold the posts for a long period of time without having their managerial skills assessed. As a result, the modern requirements in the eduction system are not met, Leonid Bujor said. When the modified law takes effect, there will be announced contests to select managers of eduction institutions of all the levels. Until present, only the rectors were appointed to posts for a five-year-term by contest.
