The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha considers that the transit of Russian gas, including on the alternative route that passes through Ukraine, is something unacceptable, IPN reports.

Asked by the Kyiv-based publication Evropeiskaya Pravda if Russia could, in theory, resume gas supplies to Tiraspol through the Trans-Balkan pipeline, which also crosses Ukrainian territory, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic service said that this thing should be analyzed, but the transit of Russian gas is "generally unacceptable."

"For now, we are discussing the possibility of helping the Transnistrian region through joint actions of Ukraine and the EU. This is on the agenda," said the diplomat, quoted by RFE\RL’s Moldovan Service. He added that Kyiv and the EU are currently focusing "on what we can do without Russian gas."

Returning from the Russian Federation, Krasnoselsky announced on Wednesday that Russian gas supplies to the Transnistrian region would be resumed, in the form of humanitarian aid, but did not specify an exact date when this will happen.

Two days ago, President Maia Sandu said that if the Russian company Gazprom resumes gas supplies to the Transnistrian region, Chisinau will not oppose the transit.
