The former head of the Security and Information Service (SIS) Artur Reshetnikov has only several scratches on the head and there are no signs of injection on his body, the head of the Ministry of the Interior’s Prosecution Division Gheorghe Malic said Friday, after Reshetnikov was examined by a specialized doctor, Info-Prim Neo reports. Malic said the version of a hoax planned by the Communists Party, even without the victim’s consent, becomes more probable. The doctor did not detect signs of violence on Artur Reshetnikov’s body. There are no marks of handcuffs or rope on his wrists. Gheorghe Malic stated he was contacted by a person who said that Reshetnikov was beaten by the PCRM’s administration. The Communist candidate has not been yet questioned thoroughly as he refuses to make statements. This makes the authorities think that the delay in the investigation is convenient for the Communists only, said Gheorghe Malic, adding Reshetnikov’s blood did not contain alcohol. First Deputy Prosecutor General Andrei Pantea said they are faced with contradictory information. During the questioning, Artur Reshetnikov’s brother-in-law said the victim opened himself the door of his house. Earlier, it was reported that Reshetnikov was found near his house by his wife. In a communiqué, the Communists Party says the assertion that the kidnapping of Artur Reshetnikov was a hoax planned by it is groundless and shows that the Ministry of the Interior’s administration is politically biased.
