A girl aged five months was killed with a sickle in Branzenii Noi village of Telenesti village. The girl’s grandfather aged 65, who was found in an advanced state of inebriation, is the main suspect. This was arrested for 72 hours.
Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Telenesti Police Inspectorate Diana Maxim said the child’s mother went to work on July 27, leaving the child in the care of her father. In several hours, the woman returned home and found her daughter dead.
“When the police discussed with the 65-year-old man, he said he had hallucinations while under the influence of alcohol. Neighbors and relatives said this very often abused alcohol in the recent past,” stated Diana Maxim.
The man wasn’t under the supervision of a psychologist. A number of examinations will be performed, including psychiatric and narcological ones. The man faces 15 to 20 years in jail for murder.
