Minister of Justice Fadei Nagachevski, as a member, will warn the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) about the judges who deal with the case of the leader of the Shor Party Ilan Shor and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) about the prosecutors who represent the state in this case, IPN reports.

In a posting on Facebook, the minister said he will ask the two institutions to examine the qualifications of these judges and how they meet the discipline standards. He will also request the National Integrity Authority to direct its attention to the given state functionaries.

The minister’s dissatisfaction comes after the Cahul City Appeals Court that is trying the case of Ilan Shor on February 21 decided for the fifth time to put off the examination of the case, this time until March 19, 11:30am. Fadei Nagachevski said this is ridiculous already.

In June 2017, Ilan Shor was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for his role in the $1B bank fraud. The sentence was challenged in the Appeals Court and Shor was freed from house arrest on bail until a definitive sentence. In February 2018, the case was moved to the Cahul Appeals Court and a final judgment hasn’t been passed yet.

In June 2019 ago, Ilan Shor reportedly sneaked out of the country in breach of his bail conditions. Exiting the country bypassing border and customs formalities is itself a criminal offense for which Shor faces a hefty fine or up to 2 years in prison. On August 15, 2019, Ilan Shor was stripped of parliamentary immunity.
