Judoka Victor Sterpu (-81 kg) has won the Grand Prix held in Zagreb. In the final of his weight class, the Moldovan athlete defeated Brazil’s Gabriel Falcao, IPN reports.
In the competition, he scored five victories, defeating Serbia’s Vukan Stanimirovic, Slovenia’s Aljaz Plantak, Arnaud Aregba of France, Botond Toth of Hungary and Gabriel Falcao of Brazil.
“This remarkable result confirms the top value of our athletes,” reads a press release of the Judo Federation of the Republic of Moldova.
The Zagreb Grand Prix involves 319 athletes from 40 countries.
