Judoka Latîșev became European champion in the U-23 category

The Moldovan judoka Mihail Latișev became the European youth champion in the under-23 age category, while Oxana Diacenko won the bronze medal. This was announced by the National Olympic Committee on November 16. The competitions took place in Poland.

Latișev competed in the under 90 kg weight category and achieved five victories. According to the National Olympic Committee, he defeated Italy’s Enrico Signorini, Serbia’s Vojin Mandic, Georgian athletes Akaki Dzhaparidze and Gheorghi Dzhabniashvili, and in the final, he triumphed over the Dutchman Jan Van Herk.

Oxana Diacenko competed in the over 78 kg weight category. She defeated Georgia’s Nino Papidze, Italy’s Tiziana Marini, and Estonia’s Emma-Melis Aktas.
