Judoka Dorin Gotonoaga wins Prague Men Open

Moldovan judoka Dorin Gotonoaga has won the Prague European Men Open 2018. In the 81kg weight class, the athlete from Hancesti won five victories, IPN reports.

Before reaching the final, Gotonoaga beat Ukraine’s Eldar Panhani, Italy’s Andrea Regis, Armann Khalatian of France and Robin Pacek of Sweden. In the final, the 22-year-old judoka won against Poland’s Damian Szwarnowiecki.

At the competition in Prague, Moldova was also represented by Adil Osmanov (60 kg), Vadim Zaharia (66 kg), Ion Nacu (73 kg), Victor Sterpu (73 kg), Catalin Marian (73 kg), Mihai Hancu (81 kg), Eugen Matveiciuc (90 kg) and Iurie Mocanu (90 kg). Sterpu won two victories, while Matveiciuc and Osmanov by one.
