The Superior Council of Magistracy accepted the caretaker prosecutor general Dumitru Robu’s request to investigate a judge who is suspected of unjust enrichment, IPN reports.
The name of the judge wasn’t made public. As a result of deliberations, the Council decided to give its consent for performing such investigative measures as searches, detention and arrest for unjust enrichment.
As regards a similar request featuring another judge, the Superior Council of Magistracy decided to transmit Dumitru Robu’s request to the Judicial Inspectorate for compiling an information note. The request itself will be examined in the next meeting. The name of the second judge also wasn’t made public.
Contacted by IPN, prosecutor in charge of media relations at the Prosecutor General’s Office Mariana Cherpec said the names of the two judges cannot be revealed as this is personal data and also due to the presumption of innocence.
