The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office finished the investigation and sent to court another criminal case against a judge from Causeni. The judge is accused of intentionally passing an illegal judgment. Earlier, he was accused of passive corruption. At the request of the Prosecutor General, the judge was suspended from post, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office, last year the judge included incorrect data in the judgment, violating thus the rights and interests of the participants in the trial, including the right to a fair trial. By such actions, the interests of justice and the rule of law principles were seriously affected. At the end of 2013, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office started a criminal case against the judge and a consultant of his over passive corruption.
The case was sent to the Causeni Court for examination. Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin requested the Supreme Court of Justice to transfer the case to another court of the same level so as to make sure that the trial is objective. A relevant decision hasn’t been yet taken.
