Journalists from Transnistrian area likely to start striking

Journalists from public media from the Transnistrian area have not got their salaries since April. The reason seems to be the misunderstanding concerning the budget financings between the manque ministry of information and telecommunications and the local legislature, Info-Prim Neo correspondent in the area reports. According to some journalists from the TV station of the area, from Radio Pridnestrovie and the publication Pridnestrovie, the dissatisfaction is growing, and it is but a step before starting protest actions. The journalists blame the ministry and especially minister Vladimir Belyayev. The Proryv Party from the area expressed its protest as to that situation and the violation of the media representatives' rights. “Not paying the salaries can be described as a diversion. The catastrophic situation emerged because of the incompetent attitude of minister Vladimir Belyayev,” reads a statement issued by that party.
