Journalists encouraged to treat topics of public interest

The Independent Journalism Center launched a project to develop the mass media by strengthening the professional abilities of the journalists, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Center’s director Nadine Gogu, the objective of the Strengthening the Moldovan Media Capacity to Cover Issues of Public Interest Project is to encourage the journalists to treat topics of public interest in accordance with the people’s demands. “The project also aims to strengthen the cooperation relations between journalists, including in Gagauzia and the Transnistrian region,” Nadine Gogu said in a meeting of the EU’s Press Club themed “Implementation of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights in Moldova”. Nadine Gogu also said that this project is intended for media outlets, journalists, students of faculties of journlaism, consumers of media products, etc. The project is implemented by the Independent Journalism Center in partnership with the Media Center of Tiraspol and the Media Development Center of Bulgaria. It is financed by the European Commission within the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights.
