The European Union will resume funding to the Republic of Moldova, however, the funding will be project oriented. The statement belongs to the president of the European People's Party, Joseph Daul, and was made during the visits undertaken with Prime Minister Maia Sandu at the University Center for Simulation in Medical Training, an institution built with European Union funds.
"Put forward projects and you will receive funding. All the money must be directed to the citizens”, said Joseph Daul.
The president of the largest party in the European Parliament said he wanted to visit a project supported by the European Union. "Make it possible for the public to find out about such projects through the media, because this proves the government’s concern for the health of the citizens", Joseph Daul told Prime Minister Maia Sandu.
The President of the EPP touched upon the topic of the justice system, which must be reformed so that all citizens are equal.
Maia Sandu highlighted that the University Center for Simulation in Medical Training is a successful project. "This is a sustainable project with concrete results. I have heard that this place is an innovative center for the entire region, not just for the Republic of Moldova”, said the prime minister.
Maia Sandu added that the government is aiming to build two new hospitals, one in the south of Moldova and another one in the north. "We could draw inspiration from this experience, even if we need a lot of money, yet we will continue to rely on EU support", said Maia Sandu.
