Joint votes of the Liberal-Democratic and Communist MPs will exist until there are common interests, with benefits for both of the parties, political analyst Mihai Cernencu stated for Info-Prim Neo. According to him, a majority coalition between the two parties is impossible as they will be both penalized by the voters. Mihai Cernencu stated that even if the PLDM and PCRM voted together in favor of several bills in the meeting of the legal commission, this does not mean that a new coalition is formed. “I don’t think they will agree to an alliance of the kind. This situation is a short-term benefit,” said the analyst. He also said that both of the parties target Vlad Plahotniuc. The Communists accuse him of buying mayors, MPs and party members, while the PLDM consider that Vlad Plahotniuc controls the legal system and other state institutions. The common interest will exist until two essential problems are solved: the exclusion of the post of First Deputy Speaker, and the election of the prosecutor general,” said the analyst. Mihai Cernenco stated that the AEI agreement turned out to be defective as criminal cases stated to be opened against certain persons, while against other persons were not and such a situation cannot be tolerated. “Vlad Filat banks on the renegotiation of the agreement, but the PDM and PL do not want it, as we saw. The early legislative elections are however the worst solution,” he stated. He considers that a better agreement can be negotiated with the help of the European Union, which invested a lot in Moldova. The spring-summer session of Parliament opens on February 15. The agenda includes the PLDM’s bill concerning the removal of the post of First Deputy Speaker. The PDM and PL made it clear that the PLDM and PCRM may form a parliamentary majority after the Lib-Dems withdrew from the Alliance for European Integration.
