During the Easter holidays, the customs authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania ordered administrative-organizational measures to fluidize people and freight traffic in the period. Between April 26 and May 16, 2021, the border authorities of the two states will supplement the number of customs officers at border crossing points, will use all the available lanes for checks to manage the flow of travellers and freight and will synchronize these activities with the activities of the local border police bodies, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova said that given the pandemic situation generated by the spread of SARS CoV-2, the sanitary measures to protect customs officers will be stopped up, including by providing the necessary disinfectants, masks and gloves.
The mobile teams that ensure control all over the country will also step up their activity so as to prevent cases of swindle that can cause damage to the state budget.
Those who intend to cross the border can call the Customs Service’s Call Center (+373 22 78 8888) to obtain information about the rules of crossing the border and to report eventual acts of corruption or abuses committed by customs officers.
