Amber jewelry and fragments of different sizes weighing over 3 kg were found in a truck carrying appeals from Moldova to Russia at the Leușeni customs post, IPN reports, quoting the Customs Service.
The 41-year-old driver told the customs officers that he has nothing to declare except for the goods indicated in the accompanying documents. When carrying out a check, the customs officers found five packs that were supposedly with amber in raw form and in the forms of beads and capsules in the truck’s cab, under a blanket. The amber jewels and fragments were seized.
The Customs Service urges carriers not to resort to actions that represent violations of the legislation. Even if the customs body takes measures to fluidize the traffic of freight, Moldova’s economic security remains a priority.
