Jaywalking woman struck by car

A woman who was jaywalking was hit Friday by a car at the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Ismail St. She was taken to the hospital by an ambulance that was passing by, Info-Prim Neo reports. Though there is an underground passage at the intersection, the woman tried to cross the street going between cars and was unlucky to be struck by a taxi. Chisinau Ambulance Service managing doctor Eufalia Negreata said the 39-year-old woman suffered fractures of the pelvic bones and the forearm and a backbone injury. The same day, a child aged 10 was admitted to Valentin Ignatenco Hopsital with traumas after he had been hit by a car on Decebal Blvd. A 17-year-old teen crashed his scooter into a taxi and sustained a cranial-cerebral trauma, a concussion and an arm fracture. On Friday, December 10, the Chisinau ambulance teams were called to the scene of eight road accidents that happened in the capital city.
