The Government of Japan this month will approve the decision to partially finance the project on the effective use of fuel from biomass in the Republic of Moldova. Japan’s contribution will be determined by the Japanese authorities. Minister of Agriculture Vasile Bumacov, who held negotiations with the Japanese side, has told Info-Prim Neo that they had worked on the project’s plan of action for two years. Vasile Bumacov recently met the Japanese team that was empowered to prepare the launch in Moldova of the project on the effective use of fuel from biomass in the Republic of Moldova. In the meeting, there were presented and discussed the results of the final report on the given project, technical and engineering aspects, the schedule of works, the support of the Japanese side, and the Moldovan side’s contribution to successfully implementing it. “The project is to be approved by the Government of Japan. I would not like to talk yet about the sides’ contribution. We should not anticipate things. Under the project, Japanese pellet boilers will be installed in 25 Moldovan villages,” said Vasile Bumacov. Biomass heating systems will be bought within the project, especially for education institutions from rural areas. A mini-factory for making pellets from agricultural waste will be built at the Japanese Center in Moldova. All those interested will be able to learn how to make pellets. In Moldova there are over 100 heating stations working on biofuel.
