Japan wishes to implement a plan on the creation of an economic community, in perspective – a political one, of the state from the former socialist bloc from Europe and Asia, international press agencies report. According to the plan, presented by the Minister of Foreign Affaires of Japan, Taro Aso, the community is to be formed by the states from South-East Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos), Central Asia (Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan), Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia) and South-East Europe (Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania). Ministry of Foreign Affaires from Tokyo wishes to involve in the implementation of this plan all the major international organisations, starting with the UN, and Japan would have one of the main roles in this sense. Among the first actions in implementing the plan is the planned visit of Taro Aso to Bulgaria and Romania in the middle of January.
