Japan ready to import more Moldovan wine

Taro Kimura, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan, in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Moldova Valeriu Strelet reiterated the readiness to assist Moldova in promoting investments and to provide the consultancy needed to ensure economic growth and to improve the conditions for developing the business in the country, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the discussions centered on the development of the Moldovan-Japanese cooperation and the possible cooperation areas. The interlocutors underlined the importance of opening the embassies of Moldova and Japan in the capital cities of the two countries so as to foster the high-level dialogue and to facilitate the agreeing of the sector cooperation agenda.

The officials also conferred on the opportunity of setting up a joint commission for commercial-economic cooperation. Taro Kimura reaffirmed the willingness to promote the export of Moldovan wine to Japan. “We are ready to discuss possibilities of increasing the wine imports from Moldova and of intensifying the promotion of the country brand “Wine of Moldova” on the Japanese market,” he stated.

Valeriu Strelet expressed his readiness to have a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the next Session of the UN General Assembly that will convene soon in New York.
