Twelve technical professional institutions of Moldova received nine types of modern equipment for outfitting their workshops. The equipment to the value of about US$100,000 was donated by the Government of Japan as part of a grant agreement signed with the Government of Moldova in 2015, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Education.
The event to hand over the equipment, staged at the Transport Center of Excellence in Chisinau on October 19, involved Minister of Education Corina Fusu and Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Masanobu Yoshi.
“This achievement confirms the Ministry of Education’s commitment to modernize technical professional education and to ensure practical training of a high quality for students. On this occasion, I want to thank the Government of Japan for the continuous support provided to the Republic of Moldova, especially to the education sector,” stated the minister.
The equipment includes cutting and drilling machines, lathes, digital multi-meters and vices that will be used by teachers and students in workshops. The devices were delivered to Moldova at the end of September and were installed at 12 technical professional institutions.
In Moldova, there are 11 centers of excellence, 32 colleges and 43 professional schools.
