All the subjects concerning the Transnistrian conflict settlement and the January 1 shooting incident will be discussed in the 5+2 format meeting that will take place in February, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Karpov said in a meeting with officials of Dubasari district, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Regretfully, we cannot call an extraordinary meeting in the 5+2 format. High-ranking foreign officials are involved in this format and they cannot be immediately called in certain situations. But in February all these issues will be raised. We want to establish more constructive cooperation relations with the representatives of Tiraspol,” said Eugen Karpov. He stressed that a change occurred in the relations with the Transnistria last yearend, when the leader in Tiraspol was replaced. “There are also other persons with whom we are ready to negotiate, not only in the 5+2 format, but also in the relationship between Chisinau and Tiraspol,” said Eugen Karpov. The Deputy Prime Minister informed that the reinforced concrete blocks at the peacekeeping post near Vadul lui Voda were removed from the roadway. Negotiations are now held to extend the measure to the other peacekeeping posts so that the given blocks are replaced with speed limit signs. As to the January 1 shooting incident, Eugen Karpov said all the relevant bodied acted promptly. The case is examined by the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova in concert with Russian experts. The first meeting of the group of experts was held on January 4. “Steps are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident,” he stated, adding that effort is made to demilitarize the peacekeeping forces and to internationalize the peacekeeping mission. The 18-year-old Vadim Pisari, who was wounded fatally by a Russian peacekeeper from a gun, was buried in his native village Pirita on January 4.
