Jail time for driver who ran over young man

The Criuleni Court sentenced, to six years in jail, the driver who ran over a 20-year-old young man from Cosernita village, Criuleni district. He will also have to pay material and moral damages of 129,000 lei to the victim’s family, Info-Prim Neo reports. The accident happened in the night of May 3. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office press service, the driver was drunk. He was driving a Renault car on the Chisinau-Criuleni road segment, going to a disco. In Boscana village, at about 1am, ran over a young man, who was returning from his birthday party and was accompanying his guests. The sentence is appealable.
