The Political Party "Partidul Nostru" mayoral candidate for the capital, Ivan Diacov, said that he comes to the City Hall in order to fight organized crime and to provide a better, more honest and quiet life to Chișinău residents. According to him, we are all witnesses to "a mafia installing itself" in City Hall over the course of the last few years, who's concern was to distribute public goods based on personal whim. The candidate made the statements at the "Only one out of many: who and why" public debates, organized by the IPN Press Agency.

Ivan Diacov said that he is aware of the activity of City Hall and that he knows the issues that the municipality faces, such as issues related to the environment, roads, kindergartens, as well as the education field in general. However, in his opinion, "the elections already involve deceit, because there is a tacit agreement between Ion Ceban (PSRM) and Andrei Năstase (the ACUM bloc)".

The mayoral hopeful said that the only chance for fair elections is for the voters to do justice, by fully involving themselves in the electoral race. He added that in the elections set for October 20, he is counting on honest voters with critical thinking and intellectuals who realize that the current situation can no longer be tolerated.

In other news, Ivan Diacov said that other candidates should not be exempt from criticism, because Andrei Năstase (ACUM bloc) and Ion Ceban (PSRM) would have party interests.

"The election campaign is given by God in order to enlighten the voters. However, when we look at what Năstase and Ceban do, we realize that they are not interested in Chișinău. Năstase sees the Chișinău City Hall as a springboard for a presidential bid”, said Ivan Diacov.

According to the candidate, most importantly, citizens should consciously cast their vote and return to reality, because "the tragedy is knocking on the door". Ivan Diacov thinks that Chișinău needs a prosecutor, because organized crime "has settled in at Chișinău City Hall".

The next debate is scheduled for October 16.

The second round of the "Only one out of many: who and why?" electoral debate, which involves the participation of mayoral hopefuls for Chișinău municipality, is the 119th edition of the "Development of political culture in public debates" cycle, supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.
