Deputy Head of Parliament Iurie Tap, the vice chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), demanded that the Communists Party (PCRM) apologize for accusing him of violating the Electoral Code in the second round of the local elections held in Floresti. Otherwise, he will sue the PCRM, Info-Prim Neo reports. After the May 30 local elections, Communist MP Iurie Muntean said he will request the Prosecutor General's Office to administratively punish the Liberal-Democrat lawmaker Iurie Tap for campaigning on the local TV channel in Floresti on the election day. Iurie Munteanu demanded that the lawmaker should be deprived of immunity. In a news conference on June 2, Iurie Tap said the two reports broadcast on “Flor TV” were filmed earlier, on May 23. The reports were about his participation in the Sportsperson's Day in Floresti town and in the Great Sunday festival held the same day in Domulgeni village. Iurie Tap said the head of the Floresti TV channel explained that the two reports were rebroadcast on May 30 as the channel airs the most important events at the end of every week. The first vice chairman of the PLDM Mihai Godea considers the PCRM is trying to maintain the people's attention by manipulation and lies. He said his colleague Iurie Tap did not break the Electoral Code.
