Prime Minister Iurie Leanca will have a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk. In the program “In Depth” on Pro TV Chisinau channel, the Premier said the meeting will take place after the vacation, IPN reports.
Iurie Leanca stated that the discussions will center on matters that are important to the people and they will be held in a calm and constrictive manner.
Asked if the Government knows about the alleged ‘anti-Vilnius’ plan of Russia, the Prime Minister said that in the smaller countries, the plotting theories are well-though-out and promoted with great tenacity. He admitted that steps are taken to hamper Moldova’s European course. “The rhetoric in Tiraspol over the last 4-5 months has been much more aggressive. There are staged many conferences on Eurasian integration that are provocative,” said Iurie Leanca. According to him, the campaign to collect signatures in favor of Gagauzia gaining independence from Moldova was another provocation.
Since he was invested on May 30, Iurie Leanca has never met with the Transnistrian leader.
