The MPs of the PLDM should show political maturity, admit particular mistakes, draw a line and sit at the negotiating table, the chairman of the European People’s Party of Moldova Iurie Leanca said in the talk show “Moldova live” on Moldova 1 channel, IPN reports.
The politician noted that he does not take part in the discussions with the Communists initiated by the PDM. “We do not attend the consultations with the Communists. We went to them a year ago. They should now come to us, if they need. It is not logical to discuss now with other parties until there are chances for the PLDM to take part in the negotiations. The country could experience a default. Those from the PLDM should leave the frustrations aside and should work for the people’s benefit,” said the former Premier.
Iurie Leanca also said that the number of seats of MP held by each party of the pro-European alliance should be taken into account when the future government is formed. “We are elected by the people and must respect the results of the November 2014 elections, even if changes occurred meanwhile. I think we should have discussions with the PLDM. We could even create a common cooperation platform. The PLDM is a member of the European People’s Party. We also submitted an application to join this party,” he stated.
Iurie Leanca said that they didn’t’ discuss his candidacy for premiership, but suggested that he could accept to hold this post on particular conditions. “We must form a parliamentary coalition. The experience of 2015 showed that a government cannot exist and function in the absence of a parliamentary majority. Each party of the future alliance should undertake very clear commitments. The implementation of the Association Agreement must represent a priority for the future government,” he stated.
