The designated candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca intends to hold consultations with the PL and PCRM next week, the acting Premier’s spokeswoman Liliana Vitu-Esanu has told IPN. She said that the day when the consultations will take place will be agreed in the near future.

On the Government’s website www.particip.gov.md, it is announced that Iurie Leanca started the consultations for designing the Government’s work program. The people are invited to formulate proposals for the program and to submit them through the current communication platform by February 3.

It was earlier announced that this week Iurie Leanca held consultations with the main associations of investors working in Moldova, who are active members of the Economic Council, namely the Association of Foreign Investors, the European Business Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova. In the meeting, associations’ representatives spoke about the problems faced by the investors in Moldova.

The candidate for premiership is to also have consultations with representatives of trade unions, employers, the National Participation Council, the National NGO Council and other civil society organizations as well as with political analysts.

On January 28, President Nicolae Timofti nominated Iurie Leanca for the post of Prime Minister of Moldova. Within 15 days of the nomination, the candidate is to present the work program of the future Government and the members of the Cabinet and to ask for Parliament’s vote of confidence for being invested as Premier. So far only the factions of the PLDM and PDM, which include 42 MPs, announced they will vote for the designated candidate.
