The International Festival “Gustar” is an enjoyable and significant event for the country, stated Prime Minister Iurie Leanca at the inauguration of the Festival's fifth edition on Saturday.
Iurie Leanca, accompanied to the Festival by other Cabinet members, said Gustar is an event that brings people together in a celebration of Moldovan traditions, folk craft and cuisine. “Orheiul Vechi is a place that is full of both history and future”, said Leanca, describing the Festival's picturesque location, some 60km northeast of Chisinau.
“This Festival demonstrates that we have a future and this future is European. We have traditions that we cherish”, stated Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat, the patron of the event.
The three-day festival will feature a host of Moldovan performers as well as foreign singers and bands, including “the king of Balkan party music” Goran Bregovic. The program also includes displays of traditional garment, exhibitions of plastic art and musical instruments, and food and wine tastings.
